Always wanted to work in clay and learn to mould and cast? This is an easy one-day workshop where you can spend the morning modelling a small relief sculpture and after lunch make a simple mould and cast the relief in plaster. At the end of the day you will take home your own clay relief.

The course is led by Sara Myers, a classically trained sculptor, and her approach is very much based on individual help and feedback.

Preparation

You’ll get the most out of the workshop if you know in advance what you want to create. So bring reference material (drawings or pictures) with you. Armature and all materials are included in the cost of the course, and there will be modelling tools available. Please bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee and squash are available at the arts centre.

What to wear

Clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and a large canvas apron, overalls or smock is ideal. Plaster can ruin clothes, so wear decorating or gardening clothes. Please bring a packed lunch and (optional) own modelling tools, if you have them, but basic ones are provided.

Cost

£65 per person

Booking

Booking is essential via bookings@yardleyarts.org. Spaces are limited to 12 and are suitable for ages 14 and up. Your space(s) will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.
