Any budding sculptors out there? This a short course run by artist Sara Myers to provide you with an introduction to figurative sculpture.

Here you will make small quick sketches in clay before working on the sculpture itself.

In the first session, using water-based modelling clay, we will deal with the basics - looking at the proportion and structure of the figure and learning how to make an armature (a framework for the clay).

In the second and third sessions, using air drying clay, we will work directly from a life model to make two quick poses.

At the end of the three weeks you will come away with two small sculptures.

What’s included?

All materials and tools will be provided along with a life model.

What to bring

Please bring something to cover your clothes and a note/sketch book to make notes/drawings in.

Do bring own modelling tools if you have them but otherwise these will be provided.
